Ruth Matter, 59, Succumbs At Home

Mrs. Mella Ruth Matter, 59, a resident of Lewiston since 1918, died at her home, 1202 9th St., at 1:30 yesterday afternoon.

Death was due to heart disease. Mrs. Matter was the widow of Cliffor Matter, who died at Lewiston Nov. 11, 1947.

She was born at Wausa, Neb., Feb. 11, 1890, and married there on Aug. 3, 1910. The Matters came to Lewiston in 1918.

Mrs. Matter was a communicant of the Congregational Presbyterian (Federated) church and a member of the Daughters of the Nile and the Eastern Star.

She is survived by one daughter, Inez R. Wood, Lewiston; two sons, Clifford of Lewiston, and William of Kuna; three sisters, Flora Jones, Lewiston; Irene Bozung, Los Angeles, and A. Loran Blanchard (a brother, not a sister), Everett, Wash.; two brothers, Earl B. Brown, Everett, and Thomas C. Brown, Boise, and four grandchildren.

The body is at the Brower-Wann funeral home with arrangements pending.
