Archie McCloud [McLeod] Dead.

Passed Away at 8:30 Last Night at the Hospital.

The death of Archie McCloud occurred at 8:30 last night at the St. Joseph hospital. The deceased was 57 years of age and he is survived by a daughter in this city, a brother in Nova Scotia and a sister in Massachusetts. A telegram was sent last night to his brother and funeral arrangements will not be made until a reply is received from him.

The deceased has been a resident of the Lewiston country for about 12 years. He conducted a saloon in Lewiston for a period and recently has been conducting an establishment at Spalding. He had been in failing health for some time and about a month ago entered the St. Joseph hospital here. A few days ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis and this was the immediate cause of his death. The deceased had a wide acquaintance throughout this section.

The Funeral Today.

Remains Archie McLeod Will Be Laid at Final Rest.

At two o'clock today, the funeral of the late Archie McLeod will be held from the Vassar undertaking parlors, Rev. Somerville officiating. Mr. McCloud [as written] had a host of friends in this locality who respected his memory and who appreciated a character of friendship which did not discriminate between the rich and the poor. He died surrounded by friends.

The pallbearers today will be: W. L. Boice, Jack Coburn, Charles Angel, Phil Canton, A. F. Bree and J. T. Roy.
