Anna L. Miles Taken By Death

Mrs. Anna Louisa Miles, 81, a resident of Clarkston since 1927, died at the Tri-State Memorial Hospital, Clarkston, at 3:15 p.m. yesterday after a lingering illness of several months.

She entered the hospital a day before her death when her condition became critical. Cause of death was attributed to the infirmities of old age. Her home was at 1208 20th St.

Mrs. Miles was born at Louisa, Ky., March 7, 1871. She married E. J. Miles [Elwood Johnson Miles] at Cumberland, Md., Dec. 31, 1890. They moved west with their family to Oakesdale, Wash., in 1905, moving later to Culdesac in 1909. When Mr. Miles' death occurred in 1927, Mrs. Miles moved to Lewiston to make her home here.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Claude Henderson, Mrs. Effie McKenzie, and Mrs. Harry Campbell, all of Lewiston; and eight sons, Richard L. Miles, member of the Clarkston City Council; John R. Miles of Snohomish, Wash.; Lewis Miles of Marcus, Wash.; and Thomas B. Miles, Paul E. Miles, Roy E. Miles, Alton E. Miles and Frank Miles, all of Lewiston. Twenty-seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Merchant's Funeral Home, Clarkston.
