Obituary - Mrs. John Murdick

Emeline C. Potter was born in Maine in 1868. Twenty-five years ago she was married to John Murdick. Three children were born to them, two of which survive - Roy, who is grown, and Eva, about 10 years of age.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Murdick were stricken with pneumonia, and she being weakened by former illness, could not battle successfully with this dread disease. The end came on the evening of the 6th of April and she was laid to rest in the Tammany cemetery on Sunday, April 7. The funeral was attended by a number of Odd Fellows from Culdesac, her husband being a member of the Cottonwood lodge.

Mr. Murdick is growing stronger, and it is hoped he will soon be around again. The Odd Fellows, through the noble grand of Culdesac, Mr. Hawley, were very attentive to the wants of their fellow member and his beloved wife. The neighbors also did what they could to assist in relieving the situation which under the circumstances was peculiarly distressing.
