J. Palmer, Drayman, Is Taken By Death

John W. (Pete) Palmer, 69, owner of Pete's dray line and a resident of Lewiston for the last 23 years, died at 10:30 last night at St. Joseph's hospital. His health had been declining since May. He was born at Bancroft, Mo., May 5, 1869. At one time he was engaged in the second-hand business here.

Survivors include two sons and six daughters, Harry Palmer and Mrs. Marshall Hite, Moscow; Mrs. Julius Boesen, Lewiston Orchards; Mrs. Charles Ward and Richard Palmer, both of Culdesac; Mrs. Burton Snyder, Weippe; Mrs. Albert Jones, Lewiston, and Miss Fay Palmer, Whitman school teacher; three brothers and two sisters; J. C. Palmer, Morefield, Neb.; Al Palmer, Chicago; Frank Palmer, Denver, Colo.; Susie Palmer and Laura Palmer, both of St. Joseph, Mo., and 22 grandchildren.

The body is at the Brower-Wann chapel. Funeral arrangements are pending.
