Minnie L. Saunders Succumbs At Age 78

Mrs. Minnie L. Saunders, who had lived in North Lewiston for 39 years, died yesterday afternoon at 5:10 at St. Joseph's Hospital, one day after her 78th birthday. Death was due to cancer. She had been ill three years.

Mrs. Saunders was born Minnie L. Dillon in Summers County, West Virginia, July 12, 1875.

She was married to Charles C. Saunders in April, 1909, in West Virginia. That year they came West and settled at Craigmont.

In 1914 they moved to North Lewiston. There they homesteaded and built a house, which Mrs. Saunders still owned at the time of her death. Mr. Saunders died Nov. 26, 1945.

Mrs. Saunders was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carl Malmgren, and a son, Conrad C. Saunders, both of Lewiston; two brothers, C. D. Dillon, Talcott, W. Va., and J. C. Dillon, Hinton, W. Va.; and a granddaughter (name removed).

The body is at Brower-Wann Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at Brower-Wann Memorial Chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. J. Clarence Orr of the Lewiston First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery.
