Wife Follows Husband Along Death's Path

Death came last night to Mrs. Abby Thompson, 96, just two days after her husband, David Thompson, also 96, passed away at Medical Lake.

Mrs. Thompson died at 11:15 at her home, 1235 McCarroll. Death was attributed to infirmities. Mr. Thompson died Wednesday after a long illness, friends here were informed.

Mrs. Thompson was born Aug. 28, 1852, in Pennsylvania. While a child she moved with her parents to Kansas and then to Craig mountain, in 1896, where her father homesteaded.

She was married to Henry Lantz before her wedding to Mr. Thompson in 1913 in the Craig mountain area. The Thompsons moved to Clarkston in 1920.

Mr. Thompson was born Dec. 13, 1852, at Montreal, Canada. In 1896, Mr. Thompson went to Craig mountain and homesteaded there before coming to Clarkston in 1920. His home was at 1235 McCarroll St.

Surviving the couple are two sons, D. O. of Lewiston Orchards and David of Orofino; a daughter, Mrs. Sarah C. Howerton of Spokane; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

A double funeral will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 from Merchant's chapel, with the Rev. C. C. Funke officiating. Burial will be at Normal Hill cemetery, Lewiston.
