E. A. Wynkoop Is Called By Death

Edward A. Wynkoop, a citizen of Lewiston since 1879 except for 12 years spent in maritime work at Portland, died at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of a sister, Mrs. James Robinson, 401 Eleventh street, of Bright's disease.

Born in Pittsburgh, Penna., July 1, 1869, he came to Lewiston with his parents, receiving his education in the schools of this city. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William S. Wynkoop, his father starting the first shingle mill in Lewiston, erected along the Clearwater river where the city pumping station is. The elder Wynkoop invested in Lewiston real estate and once owned all land between Tenth and Eleventh streets and Idaho street and the base of Normal hill. Wynkoop's addition is named after the family.

On Postoffice Staff

After returning to Lewiston from Portland almost two years ago Mr. Wynkoop was employed in the postoffice here but was forced to retire on account of illness. He was well known in central Idaho.

He is survived by a brother and four sisters: Niles Wynkoop, and Mrs. James Robinson, both of this city; Mrs. A. Erickson, of Olympia, Wash., and Mrs. George Colwell and Mrs. A. D. James, both of Seattle; also three nieces, Mrs. Hiram Eldredge and Mrs. Harriet Gardner, both of Lewiston, and Mrs. Ray Plemon, San Diego, Calif.

Funeral services will be held from the Brower-Wann chapel tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Dr. E. F. Harold to officiate. Interment will be in the family plot in Normal Hill cemetery.
